Using traditional materials, mainly from the Mediterranean area, Sac de Sons offers a project of sound which traverses borders and states. Without any unnecessary labelling and catalogue restrictions, Sac de sons takes the listener from simple song melodies with minimal arrangements, but with an overwhelming strength, to those of indescribable beauty, combining the Oriental scales and rhythms to produce a sound which is both disturbing and attractive.

Mara Aranda, is well known on the national scene and has performed all over the world representing traditional Sephardic music as well as her own composition projects. Her versatile and powerful interpretive singing style together with the instrumental composition of each pieces makes for a solid work of balance which can be enjoyed as a courtship between voice and music.

The melodies of Artaica have that unmistakable Mediterranean feel from which escape is futile. Their musical roots are reflected and reinforced, with the traditional Valencian song "Cant d'Estil”, which has similarities to Arabic music, because of nearly eight centuries of coexistence with the Muslim in Spain. But they go further and do not hesitate to court melodies, rhythms, scales and sonorities from further inland obtaining a style which brings the known and loved traditions closer whilst at other times the more distant to which one approaches with a familiar curiosity.

Artaica, has the capacity of making the legacy of traditional music grow, whilst developing the music in a subtle way, without dramatic changes and style, always commencing from the viewpoint of respect and devotion to the beauty of the subject.

The members of Artaica meet and collaborate on the project directed by Xavi Folch, music intellect, composer, arranger and bass player of the band, who with his jazz studies and experiences in traditional music groups, Flamenco and contemporary opera among others, knows how to take the initial seed with the idea of creating an eclectic sound.
Which begins with his personal voyage determined at a geographical point and adding aspects of other cultures as he travels to enrich the differences and make the most of the disparities between the music.

These two worlds come together to create an atmosphere of elegance and harmony where the great voice of Mara Aranda illuminates the melody and musical performances of Artaica in their journey to create a unique sound, both ancient and modern, which is solid, high quality and gives the work a homogeneous global concept.
